The American Cancer Society is recruiting 100,000 Black women ages 25 to 55 for its VOICES of Black Women study to understand why Black women die from cancer at disproportionately high rates. Black women die from breast cancer at a 40% higher rate than white women and are diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer at twice the rate. About 6,000 participants have enrolled so far in the decades-long effort.
